THE CHANCE
ROOM
The Chance Room named after AM Chance is one of the rooms available to hire at Lightwoods House. Is it located on the ground floor, adjacent to the main entrance with fabulous views onto Lightwoods Park. The room is fully accessible with a dock leveller lift in the main entrance. The room has a maximum capacity of 40 and is also licenced for Wedding Ceremonies. Private hire of the Chance room (excluding Weddings) starts from £30 per hour
The Long
Room
The Long room situated on the first floor of Lightwoods House can accommodate up to 90 people. It spans the length of Lightwoods House and has wonderful views onto Lightwoods Park. The room is multi-functional and can be hired as either a whole room or two individual rooms (Bandstand end or Aviary End). The room is fully accessible and has lift access, with a disabled toilet located adjacent. Private hire of the Long room (excluding Weddings) starts from £36 per hour
Marquee and Garden
Did you know that you can hire the Shakespeare Gardens and Marquee for your special event? With a capacity of up to 100 guests it’s the perfect location for your event. Private hire of the Marquee and Gardens start from £108 per hour.
Please note that we do not hire the Marquee past 9pm due to being respectful of our neighbours. The Marquee does not have heating and we advise not to hire the Marquee in colder months.
Community
Hire and Classes
Lightwoods House is the perfect location to host a community class or group. Groups with the lead organiser either based in Sandwell or where the group / club / association benefits the residents of Sandwell can apply for the discounted Community Group rate. House management reserve the right to apply full fees for groups abusing the fees or using the venue for an event that is not listed within the group definition below.
Please note there are no discounted rates for individuals wishing to book Lightwoods House, and the following only applies to groups based in Sandwell wishing to use the building.
Groups are defined as: Exercise classes, art classes, youth groups and craft workshops, based within Sandwell or for the benefit of the people of Sandwell.
Optional Extras
We can provide optional extras for a additional charge including table linen, tea and coffees, stationary and projectors. The Weatherhead Bar and the Lightwoods House Coffee Van can also be made available for your event.
